The Laura Recovery Center - for missing children - proudly announces that Friendswood resident Ms. Erin Ellis is this year's recipient of the Laura Smither Scholarship. This annual $3,000 scholarship honors the memory of Laura Kate Smither, who was abducted and murdered in April 1997. Erin is the 11th recipient of this scholarship.

She is a member of the National Honor Society, the National Art Honor Society, Quill and Scroll Journalism Society, Mu Alpha Theta and part of the National Merit Scholarship Program.
